Family Day at Nehemiah

Youth With a Mission Nehemiah House, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization and is licensed under the Department of Social Welfare & Development. It is 24-hour residential facility for sexually abused and maltreated female children 7-18 years of age. They operate in three locations in Mindanao: Cagayan de Oro City, Malabalay City and Gingoog City.

As a part of the celebration for children's month, Nehemiah will be having their 11th Annual Family day on October 12, 2012. This is a time when the children in Nehemiah will have their family members come and visit with them. They will play games and have a meal together. It is vital to the children's restoration and healing process.  This event will have about 100 people in attendance and the families will be coming from all over Mindanao. Nehemiah is going to prepare a meal for all and will help fund the traveling for some of the families to get to Cagayan as many cannot afford this trip.

I would like to ask you all to pray and see if God places it on your heart to donate to this day. I have been in the Nehemiah House in Cagayan for the last two weeks. I have gotten to know each and every one of these girls. And I have seen how excited all the girls are for family day. I can't even imagine how much they must miss their families and friends. The girls have also been working very hard on practicing a dance to perform for their families. We practice the dance NUMEROUS times a day ;) This is a such a big day for everyone.

I know sending a check to the Philippines would be expensive, so if you would like to send the check to my home in the states and designate it for the Nehemiah House, I can withdraw the money from here and let your donation be known.
